MBC Accomplishments

  • Established a forum for Medway businesses to exchange ideas, address common interests and confront local issues.
  • Acted as a liaison between town government and the business community.
  • Worked to enhance Medway’s business climate and to establish the business community as an integral and credible part of the town.
  • Enabled the business community to present a united front.
  • Dealt with:
    1. tax classification – reversed Medway’s original decision to tax Medway businesses at a 50% higher rate than residential.
    2. Worked to defeat original Planning Board proposal for new sign regulations.
  • Collaborated on developing new and more user friendly by-laws.
    1. Initiated and helped pass rezoning of route 109 and route 126 intersection to commercial zone.
    2. Initiated original development of Gamewell Road (Trotter Drive) into Rt. 495 Industrial Park.
    3. Initiated reconstruction of route 109 along commercial disrtricts.
    4. Initiated efforts and worked with Medway Industrial Development Commission to support and obtain a grant for sewer installation in route 495 industrial park.
    5. Obtained local funding for Medway Christmas Parade and marching band at Medway Memorial Day Parade.
